Day 8 – Lake Taupo Huka Falls

Weather diverted us in our plans for today to hike the Tongariro Crossing, but we were flexible and found more places to discover. After a great breakfast at the lodge, we set off to find Huka Falls not far from Lake Taupo. Under overcast skies we had a short hike to the thermal spa pools below Huka Falls, which is part of the Waikato River that we visited for our glow worm tour.
